KUALA LUMPUR (July 20): Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query to Versatile Creative Bhd on the company’s sharp rise in share price and trading volume recently.

In its query, the stock exchange regulator asked the company if there were any corporate developments relating to its business that had not been announced that may account for the unusual trading activity. If so, Versatile needs to provide such details.

“Whether there is any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group that may account for the trading activity and in this respect, you are required to comply with Paragraphs 9.09 and 9.10 of Bursa Securities LR (Listing Requirement).  

“Whether you are aware of any other possible explanation to account for the trading activity; and.     

“[Also] whether you are in compliance with the Bursa Securities LR, in particular Paragraph 9.03 of the Bursa Securities LR on immediate disclosure obligations,” the local bourse inquired.

According to the company’s website, the one-stop printing and packaging solutions provider’s services range from product conceptualisation and design, to the finished product, warehousing and logistics.

At 11.48am today, shares in Versatile Creative rose 1.5 sen or 2.42% to 63.5 sen, valuing the group at RM225.98 million. It saw 3.42 million shares traded, exceeding its 200-day average volume of 298,119 shares.
