KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 25): Genting Malaysia Bhd’s operating unit Resorts World Genting (RWG) said on Monday (Oct 25) that US fast-food chain Five Guys Enterprises LLC had opened its doors at RWG.

"The wait is finally over!” RWG said in a Facebook post.

According to online reports, the Five Guys outlet at RWG is the burger joint’s first outlet in Malaysia.

According to Five Guys’ website, the fast-food chain was established in the US in 1986, when the first Five Guys outlet was opened in Arlington, Virginia. 

Five Guys said it had so far expanded to more than 1,700 locations across the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

In Malaysia, RWG said in a statement on Oct 12, 2021 that it would like to welcome all guests back to RWG as Malaysia reopens interstate travel, helped by progress in the country’s Covid-19 vaccination programme to curb the spread of the pandemic.

On Bursa Malaysia, Genting Malaysia closed up one sen or 0.32% at RM3.18 on Monday, bringing the company a market capitalisation of about RM17.97 billion.

Genting Malaysia has 5.65 billion issued shares, according to its latest quarterly financial report.
