KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 23): United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (UOB) said its Kepong branch has resumed operations after receiving the necessary guidance from health authorities.

The branch's operations, including self-service banking, were halted to facilitate a deep cleaning on Tuesday and yesterday after a UOB employee tested positive for Covid-19.

A contact-tracing exercise has been conducted with all employees and customers who came into close contact with the affected employee tested and quarantined, said UOB in a statement.

"The bank wishes to reassure its customers and its employees that it will continue to implement precautionary measures recommended by the government at all UOB premises including branches to ensure the safety of everyone.

"These include advising all UOB employees and customers who are unwell and/or who need to be quarantined to remain safely under isolation until further follow-ups from the health authorities," it added.
