KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): UEM Sunrise Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary UEM Land Bhd, has teamed up with edotco Malaysia Sdn Bhd to provide end-to-end solutions of towers, energy, transmission, and operations and maintenance (O&M) for a multi-tenant mobile network infrastructure development in Nusajaya, Iskandar Malaysia, Johor.

In a statement today, UEM Sunrise said UEM Land has signed a collaboration agreement with edotco, an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company.

The collaboration includes the joint identification by the two companies of potential sites in Nusajaya for communication towers and structures for mobile network operators (MNOs), wireless service providers, radio and television broadcast companies. The construction of such communication towers and structures will be undertaken by edotco at its own cost.

UEM Sunrise said its partnership with edotco is expected to reduce MNO towers in Nusajaya by at least 40%.

"It will also provide a lower entry cost to MNO wishing to locate in Nusajaya in order to ensure mobile services are ready from day one to the residents and businesses there, as well as boosts up the infrareadiness for 4G connectivity to cater for optimum coverage and progressive data traffic growth in Nusajaya," it added.

“UEM Sunrise is pleased to collaborate with edotco as the new mobile network infrastructure and mobile network operators will further enhance the sustainability of Nusajaya, promoting more businesses and multi-national corporations in considering this Flagship Zone B of Iskandar Malaysia as a possible location to set up their headquarters,” said UEM Sunrise chief financial officer Azhar Othman.

At 11.43am, UEM Sunrise was down 2 sen at RM1.44, for a market capitalisation of RM6.62 billion.
