PETALING JAYA (Jan 28): UEM Sunrise Bhd hit RM1.46 billion in sales after selling 1,595 units, which exceeds its 2021 RM1.2 billion sales target.

The developer announced an increased sales target of RM1.5 billion for 2022, with plans to launch projects worth RM3.3 billion in gross development value (GDV) totalling 3,526 units, which include activating the 1.3-acre site in Collingwood, Melbourne that was acquired back in 2020 to launch a mixed-development project with an estimated GDV of A$250 million (RM734.84 million).

According to a statement on Friday (Jan 28), UEM Sunrise CEO Sufian Abdullah said that the company's sales have improved significantly compared to 2020, when it achieved RM1.13 billion.

“In the absence of the Home Ownership Campaign which we have anticipated, we will be banking on robust marketing campaigns, starting with the ‘Happy Duo Duo’ Chinese New Year campaign [that was] just launched two weeks ago, which offers rewards and goodies to house buyers. We are also ensuring that our products are priced accurately to meet the market demands while exploring ESG-driven and non-superfluous designs,” he added.

UEM Sunrise is planning launches for the second half of 2022, with new phase launches of existing projects, namely Serene Heights Bangi as well as Senadi Hills and the Aspira-themed products in Iskandar Puteri.

The developer is also planning to unveil new projects to the market, which includes a new mixed-use transit-oriented development on the 6.86-acre land adjacent to the Taman Connaught MRT station in Cheras and a new mixed integrated high-rise development in Mont’Kiara, code-named MK 31. UEM Sunrise stated that further details of these new developments will be shared in due course.

For the year 2021, the central region developments made up 71% of UEM Sunrise's total sales. 45% of the total sales were from developments in Klang Valley, which are Residensi Ava in Kiara Bay and Residensi Allevia, with sales values of RM438.4 million and RM215.7 million respectively. The remaining was contributed by southern region products, with Senadi Hills (Phase 1) having RM109.8 million worth of properties sold.

UEM Sunrise’s unbilled sales stood at RM2.34 billion as of Dec 31, 2021.
