<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>According to the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) Act 1980, the prime minister is entitled to a monthly salary of RM22,826.65. Meanwhile, ministers get a monthly salary of RM14,907.20 and deputy ministers receive RM10,847.65 monthly.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>As such, with the size of the current cabinet of one prime minister, 32 ministers and 37 deputy ministers, the total sum of savings from the two-month paycut comes up to RM1.8 million.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Note that this does not include the salary as a member of Parliament and other entitled allowances.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>This move demonstrates the government’s commitment to helping those affected by the Covid-19 outbreak,” the prime minister’s office (PMO) said in a statement yesterday.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The Covid-19 fund was launched by the government on March 11 as part of its effort to help the people of Malaysia affected by the outbreak.</p></div>
