KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 9): Teo Seng Capital Bhd today announced the resignation of two of its board members Tan Sri Lau Tuang Nguang and Na Yok Chee, to downsize the number of board members, in order to comply with the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance 2017. 

According to its filings with Bursa Malaysia, Tuang Nguang is the uncle of executive chairman and indirect major shareholder of the company, Lau Jui Peng. He is also a sibling of Datuk Lau Bong Wong, who is also an indirect major shareholder of the company. 

Tuang Nguang himself has 20,000 shares in Teo Seng Capital.  

Meanwhile, Yok Chee is the executive director of Teo Seng Farming Sdn Bhd, a position he has held since 1983, when he was one of the founding partners of the company.  

He is brother of group managing director Nam Hiok Joo, and Teo Seng Feedmill Sdn Bhd general manager and Ritma Prestasi Sdn Bhd managing director Na Hap Cheng, who is also an indirect major shareholder of Teo Seong Capital.  

Yok Chee has 577,866 direct and 154.71 million indirect shares, and 25.58 million warrants in the group. 

Shares of Teo Seng Capital closed down 0.5 sen or 0.58% at 85 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM254.77 million.
