KUALA LUMPUR (March 2): Tenaga Nasional Bhd's (TNB) foreign shareholding fell to 12.75%, as at Jan 29, 2021, the lowest since since August 2012, according to latest figures from the Malaysian government-controlled utility.

The Jan 29, 2021 figure was lower than 12.87% as at Dec 31, 2020, TNB said.

According to TNB’s foreign shareholding record, which dates back as far as August 2003, the company’s latest-reported foreign shareholding of 12.75% as at Jan 29, 2021 was the lowest since August 2012, when the figure stood at 12.64%.

The company’s lowest foreign shareholding on record stood at 1.93% in August 2003, while the highest was at 28.28% in August 2016, TNB said.

TNB has 5.7 billion issued shares, according to the company’s latest quarterly financial results filing with Bursa Malaysia.

At 10:55am today, TNB’s share price had risen 10 sen or 0.97% to RM10.42, giving it a market capitalisation of about RM59.39 billion.

The stock was traded between RM10.48 and RM10.34 so far today.
