(Apr 1): Flower tributes lined a wall in The Malaysian Insider's office today as mothers, politicians and diplomats sent well-wishes in support of the three editors and two top executives arrested over a story on the Conference of Rulers.

Among those who sent bouquets were Johor readers Celes Lee and Pauline Soon, whose cards read "You'll never walk alone", the official Liverpool Football Club anthem; TMI columnist Lyana Khairuddin; PKR politicians, including party president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, party vice-president and Batu MP Tian Chua; and Mama Bersih, a civil society group of 200 mothers who support electoral reform and other social causes.

Three TMI editors were arrested on Monday evening over a report published by The Malaysian Insider on March 25 on the Rulers' rejection of a proposed amendment of a federal law to allow hudud to be enforced in Kelantan.

The three were managing editor Lionel Morais, Bahasa news editor Amin Iskandar, and features and analysis editor Zulkifli Sulong.

Yesterday, The Edge Media Group publisher Ho Kay Tat and TMI chief executive Jahabar Sadiq were also arrested when they turned up at the Dang Wangi police headquarters to have their statements recorded.

All five have been released. The first three were released last night after the court denied police their remand application.

Police did not seek remand for Ho and Jahabar and they were released this morning.

The Malaysian Insider thanks readers and all who have showed their support in one way or another for their solidarity. – The Malaysian Insider
