KUALA LUMPUR (June 30): Lembaga Tabung Haji said Datuk Johan Abdullah will helm the pilgrims fund board as group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO).

In a statement today, Tabung Haji said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom had announced Johan's appointment, which begins tomorrow (July 1).

"Datuk Johan Abdullah succeeds Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, who completed his services at the end of June 2016 after more than 10 years tenure in TH (Tabung Haji)," Jamil said.

According to Tabung Haji's statement, Johan joined the group in January 2015. Prior to that, he was BIMB Holdings Bhd managing director and CEO since May 2008.

Tabung Haji said Johan, who had also assumed senior roles at Bursa Malaysia Bhd, had extensive experience in Islamic and corporate finance.
