KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): TA Investment Management Bhd has declared a gross income distribution of 2 sen per unit for TA Dana Optimix (TADO) and 0.3 sen per unit for TA Asian Dividend Income Fund (TADIF) to registered unit holders as at Jan 31, 2020.

In a statement today, TA Investment said TADO aims to achieve steady capital gains with consistent income over the medium to long term by investing in a diversified mix of Shariah-compliant instruments.

It added that the portfolio has the flexibility of changing its asset allocation strategy depending on investment market conditions.

"As at Dec 31, 2019, TADO's performance for the past year of 2019 is steady with a cumulative performance of 16.06%," it added.

It said that for TADO, fund managers have renewed optimism due to the ceasing of the trade war and the conclusion to Brexit, adding that they anticipate corporate Malaysia's earnings growth to reach, if not exceed, 6% for the financial year 2020.

"As such, TADO remains highly invested in Malaysia with sector and stock selection being a key focus for fund managers," it said.

TA Investment also highlighted TADIF's steady performance for 2019, with a cumulative performance of 16.16%.

TADIF seeks to provide income and long-term capital appreciation by investing in a collective investment scheme which invests primarily in a portfolio of Asian stocks.

"A minimum of 95% of the Fund's NAV (net asset value) will be invested in the Janus Henderson Horizon Fund-Asian Dividend Income Fund, the Target Fund, with the balance in liquid assets," it said.

TA Investment said TADIF fund managers are cautiously optimistic concerning the income generating capabilities of the portfolio, in light of diffusing US-China trade tensions as well as with improvement in outlook for the technology sector following the gain in traction of the 5G theme.

"The portfolio remains focused on domestically orientated sectors with a preference for dividend growth opportunities over defensive high yield based on valuation differentials and more positive outlook," it said.
