KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 2): Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has ended its joint venture (JV) with Bauer (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to carry out bored piling works and associated ancillary works under Package 2 of a mixed commercial development at Persiaran KLCC here, following completion of the works.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, SunCon said its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary Sunway Geotechnics (M) Sdn Bhd (SunGeo) has signed a letter of termination with Bauer to terminate the SunGeo-Bauer JV.

A JV agreement was signed between the two parties on July 26, 2013 to jointly carry out the works.

"The termination of the JV agreement has no material effect on SunCon’s earnings per share and net assets per share. There will also be no effect on the share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholding of SunCon," the group said.

Shares of SunCon closed two sen or 1.1% lower at RM1.79 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM2.31 billion. Year to date, the stock has lost 25% of its value, from RM2.41 on Dec 29, 2017.
