Niche Capital Emas Hldg Bhd (-ve)
SHARE prices for Niche Capital (Fundamental: 0.75/3, Valuation: 0.6/3) shot up 22.8% yesterday to close at 21.5 sen with 26.1 million shares traded. 

This followed the emergence of a new substantial shareholder, Julian Foo with a 15.9% stake, announced on March 23. Earlier this month, it announced another new substantial shareholder, Pang Ling, with 8.84% stake.  

The company completed a debt settlement exercise in December 2014 via, primarily, the issuance of 115.1 million shares to four creditor banks. It expects to be discharged from the debt within the next 2 months. Niche is still in the midst of settlement for a lawsuit against Royal Mint.

Niche, previously known as Yikon Corp, is a manufacturer and distributor for gold jewellery in Malaysia, China and Hong Kong. 

It has been loss-making since 2012. Revenue fell 48% y-y to RM24.3 million in 2014 although it reported a marginal profit of RM478,000 after minority interest
