Priceworth International Bhd (-ve)
SHARES in Priceworth International Bhd (fundamental: 0.2/3, valuation: 0.9/3) triggered our momentum algorithm yesterday as the counter closed 5.5 sen or 37.93% higher at 20 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM123.6 million.

The wood products manufacturer announced last Tuesday that RHB Group founder Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain had committed to take up a 6.4% stake in the enlarged share capital of the company via a special issuance of new shares.

Abdul Rashid’s wife Puan Sri Emilahani Yang Mohd Yatim will take up 3.6%, while Maha Gayabina Sdn Bhd will end up with 20%.

The special issuance is to raise capital to fund Priceworth’s RM260 million acquisition of a 100-year concession right to carry out harvesting, forest management and rehabilitation, and industrial tree planting within a 101,161ha forest reserve area in Trus Madi, Sabah.

The stock saw over 414 million shares traded yesterday compared with its 200-day average volume of just 3,386,573 shares.
