Petra Energy Bhd (+ve)

Trading of shares in Petra Energy Bhd (fundamental: 0.95/3, valuation: 0.9/3) triggered our momentum algorithm yesterday for the first time this year.

The counter rose 30 sen, or 71.4%, to 72 sen, with 1.26 million shares traded. This is in contrast to its 200-day average volume of 126,875 shares.

On Feb 22, it announced a net profit of RM20.88 million in its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2018 of RM20.88 million, compared to a net loss of RM46.5 million.

Meanwhile, quarterly revenue rose by 62% to RM191.83 million from RM118.44 million in the previous year.

The group attributed its improved financial performance to activity increase in its service segment, particularly the hook-up, commissioning and topside major maintenance contract with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.
