MMS Ventures Bhd (+ve)

Shares in MMS Ventures Bhd (fundamental: 3/3, valuation: 1.5/3) triggered our algorithm for the second time this year, after 4.57 million shares were traded. MMS gained three sen or 4.76% to close at 66 sen.

The light-emitting diode and semiconductor industrial automation systems and machinery manufacturer dipped into the red in its first quarter ended March 31, 2016, reporting a net loss of RM224,000 from its net profit of RM1.67 million a year earlier, as revenue dropped 50% to RM3.84 million, from RM7.65 million.

Meanwhile, the company had indicated that it is targeting a sales growth of 20% for the first half of its financial year driven by its automotive sector, despite the weak first quarter results.

The stock currently trades at 2.9 times net asset value. The company paid dividends of two sen per share for its financial year ended Dec 31, 2015.
