I-Bhd (-ve)

TRADING of shares in I-Bhd (valuation: 2/3, fundamental: 1.65/3) triggered our momentum algorithm for the first time in over a year as the company emerged among the top active counters on Bursa Malaysia last Friday.

Trading volume surged to 43.35 million shares, 22 times its 200-day average of 1,955,939 shares.

The counter closed at 26 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM283.34 million. This marks a rebound from the stock’s seven-year low of 20 sen in October last year, no thanks to a lacklustre performance incurred by its core business in property development.

For the nine-month period ended Sept 30, 2019, I-Bhd’s net profit more than halved to RM22.29 million, against RM52.49 million for the previous corresponding period, on lower contributions from property development and wider losses in property investment. Revenue declined 61.84% to RM124.86 million, from RM327.18 million.
