Homeritz Corporation Bhd (-ve)

SHARES in Homeritz Corporation Bhd (fundamental: 1.95/3, valuation: 2.1/3), which triggered our momentum algorithm yesterday for the first time this year, gained 0.5 sen or 0.54% to settle at 93 sen, with 6.49 million shares done. In comparison, its 200-day average volume was only at 762,872 shares.

According to the company’s latest financial results, its net profit for the third quarter ended May 31, 2016 grew 6.36% to RM6.47 million from RM6.09 million in the corresponding quarter a year ago, due to higher sales and the strengthening of the US dollar.

In the past month, the ringgit weakened against the US dollar from RM4.1325 to RM4.1755, which saw Homeritz climb 4.49% in the same period.

But on a year-to-date basis, the home and office furnishing company’s share price has declined 15.45% and is trading at a price-earnings ratio of 9.28 times, with a market capitalisation of RM279 million. Its dividend yield stood at 4.84%.
