Focus Point Holdings Bhd (-ve)

TRADING of shares in Focus Point Holdings Bhd (fundamental: 1.1/3, valuation: 1.4/3) triggered our momentum algorithm on Tuesday for the second time this year.

The stock closed 2.5 sen or 5.75% higher at 46 sen on Tuesday, with 2.07 million shares done, compared with the average 125,603 shares recorded in the past 200 days.

For the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2018, the group’s net profit rose close to five times to RM4.45 million against RM927,000 a year ago, thanks to an improved performance of optical and related products as well as the food and beverage business.

Revenue for the quarter rose 17% year-on-year to RM50.21 million from RM42.95 million.

For the full year, Focus Point reported a net profit of RM7.1 million, compared to a net loss of RM458,000 previously.
