Farlim Group (M) Bhd (-ve)
FARLIM (Fundamental: 1.95/3, Valuation: 0.9/3), a property developer, saw a sharp spike in volume traded last Friday. Meanwhile, its share price has been trending higher since mid-December 2014 – even though the company has not been doing well, financially.

Revenue more than halved from RM63.9 million in 2010 to just RM22 million in 2013, before recovering slightly to RM24.9 million in 2014. It fell into the red in 2012-2013 with a net loss of RM4.7 million and RM11.5 million, respectively. Farlim returned to profitability last year with net profit of RM47.1 million thanks to gains from land disposal amounting to RM54.9 million.

Farlim is returning part of the disposal gains to shareholders, with its first dividend in the past five years. The stock will trade ex-entitlement for final dividend of 5 sen per share on July 6. This translates to an above-market yield of 7.5%. The company has net cash of RM96.3 million at end-December.
