Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd (-ve)

SHARES in Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd (fundamental: 2.3/3, valuation: 2.1/3) fell 46 sen or 0.86% to RM53 last Friday, after 550,200 shares were exchanged, compared with its 200-day average volume of 16,708 shares.

This is the first time the counter, which has been trending upwards since the beginning of the year, triggered our momentum algorithm.

Year to date, it has risen 13.27%.

The company recently announced its first-quarter financial results, which came in with a net profit of RM33.88 million for the three months ended March 31, 2016, up 98.94% or almost double the RM17.03 million in the previous year, due to higher revenue and favourable dairy raw material prices.

Revenue, meanwhile, rose 26.87% to RM249.79 million from RM196.89 million.

The stock is currently trading at a trailing 12-month price-earnings ratio of 21.68 times, and is at 17.72 times its book value.
