Dolphin International Bhd (+ve)
TRADING of shares in Dolphin International Bhd (fundamental: 0.45/3, valuation: 0.3/3), which triggered our momentum algorithm yesterday for the first time this year, closed 0.5 sen or 3.13% lower at 15.5 sen. It saw 18.19 million shares done, over nine times its 200-day average volume of 1.99 million shares.

Dolphin has seen several shareholding changes since the start of this year. Filings with Bursa Malaysia between Jan 6 and Jan 10 show that its group executive director Hoh Yeong Cheng had disposed of 19.81 million shares, or an 8.1% stake, on the open market.

Meanwhile, Dolphin group managing director Low Tech Yin sold 13.59 million shares via an off-market transaction, while another shareholder, Chua Seong Seng, sold 13.27 million shares, also via off-market deals.

Subsequently, Asia Poly Holdings Bhd emerged as a new substantial shareholder of Dolphin on Jan 8 after acquiring 26.86 million shares — which match the total shares disposed of by Low and Chua — representing an 11% stake.
