CCK Consolidated Holdings Bhd (-ve)

SHARES in CCK Consolidated Holdings Bhd (fundamental: 1/3, valuation: 2.6/3) climbed up 7.5% yesterday as the counter gained momentum, with 4.5 million shares changing hands, compared with its 200-day average volume of 143,196 shares.

There was, however, no significant new announcement from the company, except for its share buy-back. On Monday, the company bought back 19,800 shares at 56 to 57 sen. Based on Bursa filings, CCK has been buying back its shares since before July, for as low as 48 sen.

The group has gained about 26.47% year to date, and 75.03% over the last 12 months. At its closing price yesterday of 64.5 sen, it is trading at a trailing price-earnings ratio of about 10.94 times, with a market capitalisation of RM205.5 million.
