Careplus Group Bhd (+ve)

SHARES in Careplus Group Bhd (fundamental: 0.55/3, valuation: 0.6/3) which triggered our momentum algorithm yesterday for the third time this year, closed five sen or 16.95% higher at 35 sen.

It saw some 32.43 million shares done, compared with its 200-day average volume of 1.24 million shares.

Careplus’ first quarter ended March 31, 2017 net profit ballooned by 370% to RM3.8 million from RM798,000 in the same period last year, due mainly to higher sales arising from the additional production capacity generated from its new lines.

Quarterly revenue rose 77.4% to RM87 million from RM49.1 million a year ago for the same reason.

The stock is currently trading at 1.53 times its book value and has a trailing 12-month price-earnings ratio of 896.60 times.
