CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust (+ve)

SHARES in CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust (CMMT) (fundamental: 1.4/3, valuation: 0.15/3) slipped by 1.88% to RM1.57 with 7.45 million shares changing hands on Tuesday. In comparison, its 200-day average volume was about 1.13 million shares. This was despite the lack of any new announcement.

Its recent filing with Bursa Malaysia showed that its substantial shareholder, AmanahRaya Trustees Bhd, reduced its stake to 9.32% from 10.13% a month ago, while the Employees Provident Fund also reduced its stake from 11.93% to 11.5% during the same period.

The group’s latest financial results saw its net property income for the second quarter of the financial year ended June 30, 2016 (2QFY16) at RM60 million, which was 14.5% higher than RM52.4 million in 2QFY15. Revenue also showed an increase of 15.6% to RM92 million from RM79.6 million.

At the current level, CMMT is trading at a trailing price-earnings ratio of 17.5 times with a market capitalisation of RM3.23 billion. It has a dividend yield of 5.28%.
