KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): SMRT Holdings Bhd and Country Heights Holdings Bhd have terminated the agreement they signed on Feb 8 for the acquisition of Country Heights Education Sdn Bhd (CHE).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, SMRT said its subsidiary CUCMS Education Sdn Bhd and Ng Yin Ming signed a deed of termination with CHE and Mohamed Rasidi Harun, the vendors.

CUCMS operates and manages Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences.

SMRT said the agreement was mutually terminated and there would not be any material effect on both companies’ financials.

The shares of SMRT and Country Heights Holdings closed unchanged at 16 sen and RM1.64, respectively. Their respective market capitalisations are RM47.5 million and RM372.04 million.
