KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 6): Sime Darby Property Bhd inaugurated its lifestyle-centric commercial centre dubbed Temu at City of Elmina, Shah Alam, on Monday (Dec 5), at an opening ceremony officiated by Sime Darby Property chief operating officer (township development) Appollo Leong, accompanied by City of Elmina’s senior management team and representatives of Temu’s anchor tenants.

With a gross development value of RM159.4 million, Temu comprises 70 units of two- and three-storey shop offices offering built-ups ranging from 3,074 sq ft to 7,753 sq ft. All units were fully taken up during its launch in 2019. Selling price starts from RM1.76 million to RM3.85 million.

According to a press statement on Monday, Leong said: “[Temu] is primed to be the new hangout spot in town and the township’s point of convergence, given its strategic location in the booming Shah Alam North Corridor. This is a boon for enterprises looking to open a shop or manage their business without having to venture further to other townships.

“For the residents of the City of Elmina, living nearby Temu provides greater ease of daily life, and as for entrepreneurs, setting up businesses at locations such as the City of Elmina is definitely a smart investment move,” he added.

The statement said that the commercial centre is ideal for any set up including restaurants, department stores, grocers, banks, educational centres, bazaars, cafes, and fitness centres.

Confirmed tenants at Temu include The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Pizza Hut, FamilyMart, Miami Chicken, Klinik RH Medic, R Pharmacy and WLH Grocer, which will be operating a hypermarket chain on a one-acre parcel.

Additionally, the developer has apportioned 3,120 sq m of the development area at Temu for green communal spaces. Tenants and visitors will also have access to over 690 car park bays, bicycle parking facilities and disabled-friendly ramp access.

City of Elmina is a 6,500-acre integrated township development comprising residential, commercial and industrial developments, as well as parks and a forest reserve.

The township is accessible via the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH), Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR).
