KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd and Velesto Energy Bhd chairman Datuk Abdul Rahman Ahmad has been preliminary tested positive for Covid-19 and is now put under a healthcare facility.

Sime Darby, in a statement yesterday, said Abdul Rahman did not visit any of its premises for the last 18 days.

“Sime Darby is working with the relevant authorities to ensure its employees’ health and safety, including proactively identifying those having been in close contact with its chairman,” it added.

Velesto, in a separate statement, said it undertook the necessary precautionary and hygiene measures at its office here after Abdul Rahman tested positive for Covid-19.

It clarified that Abdul Rahman had not been to its premises here nor met its employees since Feb 26.

“Velesto is working closely with the health authorities in identifying individuals who may have come into close contact with the chairman,” it added.
