KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): Datuk Shahril Mokhtar has resigned as managing director of DWL Resources Bhd just after a year on the job.

This comes amid talk that Shahril, who previously served as the managing director of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd and chief executive officer of Mass Rapid Transport Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp), may return to helm MRT Corp.

DWL’s filing with Bursa Malaysia today said Shahril, 48, resigned due to “personal and other commitments”.

In a separate filing, DWL announced the appointment of Sim Chiun Wee, 44, as an executive director of the group.

In another filing, the construction group said it has received notification from Sim of his intention to deal in 23 million DWL shares via Montagna Management Sdn Bhd, representing a 0.001% stake in the group.

DWL’s share price closed one sen or 3.70% lower at 26 sen, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM60.54 million.
