KUALA LUMPUR (July 6): Syed Nazim Syed Faisal has relinquished his post as Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd's group chief financial officer (CFO), to be redesignated as the group's non-independent executive director, effective today.

Syed Nazim joined Serba Dinamik Group as its CFO in 2015, a post he held for about five years.

"On behalf of the board, we are delighted to welcome Syed Nazim Syed Faisal to the board and we believe he will contribute greatly towards delivering value to our stakeholders," said Serba Dinamik managing director Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah in a statement.

According to a separate filing, the firm has appointed Azhan Azmi to replace Syed Nazim as its new CFO.

Azhan's past career experience included working as audit associate at Khairuddin Hasyudeen & Razi in 2005, as senior associate at KPMG PLT in 2005, as management accountant and operation controller at Schlumberger in 2009 and in 2015, and as financial controller at Serba Dinamik from 2017.

He is a chartered accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountantsand the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

"Azhan Azmi possesses keen financial skills and extensive experience in integrating financial functions in driving commercial growth, which are key requisites for the CFO role. With his proven track record and knowledge of the organisation, he will serve us well as we chart a path of growth in Malaysia and globally," Mohd Abdul Karim added.

Shares in Serba Dinamik gained two sen to close at RM1.77 today, giving it a total market capitalisation of RM6 billion. Year to date, the stock has fallen 19.5%.
