KUALA LUMPUR (June 25): Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd is exploring opportunities in oil and gas (O&G), energy, engineering and civil works, as well as construction and development projects with the Melaka government in the state.

In a statement today, the group said its wholly-owned subsidiary Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PKNM Energy Sdn Bhd, which is wholly-owned by the state's Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Melaka, for the venture.

Serba Dinamik said the signing of the MoU represented both parties’ wish to cooperate and collaborate in such projects and that the MoU sets out the terms of the understanding and willingness of both parties for the projects.

Serba Dinamik Group managing director Datuk Dr Ir Mohd Karim Abdullah said the company is experienced in engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC). It also has experience in trading and the provision of maintenance services in the marine, chemicals, energy, water and O&G sectors.

“We are happy to team up with PKNM Energy to explore opportunities in the state of Melaka and we are ready to share our expertise and experience for projects related to oil and gas, engineering and civil works, and construction and development projects,” he said.

Mohd Karim also noted that the cooperation with PKNM Energy will expand Serba Dinamik’s footprint to Melaka, and enhance the company’s brand recognition.

In Malaysia, Serba Dinamik has projects in Johor, Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu, while it has a presence in Africa, Asia, Europe and North and South America.

The company recently secured six operations and maintenance (O&M) jobs, as well as one EPCC contract via Serba Dinamik International Ltd and Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd.

Of the O&M jobs, one was secured in Qatar with an estimated contract value of US$60 million — equivalent to approximately RM250.62 million, while the other contracts were from Malaysia with no specific value, as they were secured on a “call-out” basis, where work orders will be awarded at the discretion of clients, based on their schedule of activities and rates.

Serba Dinamik's shares gained one sen or 0.25% to settle at RM4.09 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM6.01 billion.
