KUALA LUMPUR (June 9): See Hup Consolidated Bhd rose as much as 25 sen or 16.89% to RM1.73 this morning after securing a RM91.03 million contract from China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd to construct part of the subgrade works for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).

At 9.42am, See Hup had pared some gains at RM1.55, still up seven sen or 4.73% from yesterday’s close at RM1.48, with 372,900 shares changing hands.

The group said yesterday, the contract which will be undertaken by its 51%-owned subsidiary SH Moment Builder Sdn Bhd, involves Package 2, Section 4 of the rail link.

It will commence on June 13, 2021 for a duration of 26 months.

The group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday that the contract is expected to contribute positively to its revenue, future earnings and earnings per share (EPS).
