Citibank is all set to take part in The Edge Kuala Lumpur Rat Race for the third time, all in the name of a good cause.

Its runners are no rookies as they have participated in marathons and ultra-marathons in the country and abroad.

“Citibank employees are always encouraged to stay fit by adopting a healthy lifestyle. We take this race as an avenue to be active,” said the team’s representative.

“The best part about participating in the Rat Race is that it is for a good cause. It is not about winning, but running as a team for charity.”

In its preparation for the run, the team is training hard three times a week.

“We tackle hilly terrains and slopes as part of our training to build our stamina and endurance,” said the representative.

Running for a noble cause is nothing new to the team, he said. “Citibank employees are involved in charitable projects regularly. We are called Citi Volunteers outside work. Such activities are certainly enjoyable and meaningful.”

According to the representative, the desire to transform the lives of the underprivileged is in the bank’s DNA.
