KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): Scomi Group Bhd shares slumped 11.11% at the midday break today after Bursa Malaysia Securities rejected the group's Practice Note 17 (PN17) waiver application.

Scomi shares fell 0.5 sen to end the morning session at 4 sen, for a market capitalisation of RM43.76 million.

The regulator rejected Scomi's PN17 waiver application due to concerns on the sustainability and growth potential of its existing/remaining business and its ability to generate sufficient revenue and thus, profitability. Hence, the group is now regarded as a PN17 company.

Separately, Scomi yesterday said its proposed share capital reduction and share consolidation have been approved by Bursa Malaysia Securities.
