KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 7): SCH Group Bhd has appointed De Souza Michael Lawrence as its group chief executive officer, following the resignation of Lau Mong Ling as managing director in November last year.

According to a filing by the group, De Souza previously served Johnson Controls as regional sales manager for Southeast Asia and South Asia regions. He later joined Aggreko as sales manager before being promoted to general manager for Southeast Asia.

“He has accumulated sales and operations management experience of more than 15 years and held senior regional sales and operations positions in multinational companies,” said SCH.

In the latter part of last year, the company saw several board changes, including the redesignation of former independent director Datuk Chan Choun Sien as chairman following the resignation of Chan Wan Choon in October.

Its former MD Lau, who was also the group's deputy chairman, resigned a month later in November.

SCH closed unchanged at 11 sen today, which gives it a market capitalisation of RM61.11 million. In the past 12 months, the stock has fallen by nearly 48%.
