AT the recent highly-anticipated Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Melody Gardot stole the show with a flawless performance onstage. The award-winning singer-songwriter enchanted the audience with her powerful, sultry vocals and inimitable style. Catching the light as she moved to her groove were two unmistakable rings by Piaget: the Possession in 18-carat yellow gold and another in 18-carat pink gold set with 234 brilliant-cut diamonds.

Made distinguishable by a centrepiece that can be rotated, the Possession rings collection is well-loved for its harmonious aesthetic and playful nature. Piaget, in this creatively bold design, describes the rotation as symbolic of women’s boundless potential in their pursuit of destiny. The movement is fluid and natural, a secret addictive pleasure.

Gardot, a long-time friend of the brand, has collaborated with Piaget on numerous occasions, even lending her voice to a short-film celebrating the Maison’s Piaget Rose collection in which she sang Piaf’s legendary La Vie en Rose. She also performed at an exclusive event in the Paris, where the global launch of the collection was held inspired by Yves Piaget’s passion for the rose.

The Grammy-nominated Gardot, whose hits include Who Will Comfort Me and Baby I’m a Fool, is currently touring the United States and Europe. She recently made the news for the release of her new album Currency of a Man, which received great critical acclaim for its innovative, experimental approach. The album is a departure from her previous work and critics see it as confirmation that the 30-year-old is coming into her own with this evolution of her style.
