KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): Sarawak Cable Bhd executive director (ED) Datuk Ahmad Redza Abdullah has been re-designated as the group's managing director, effective today.

Ahmad served as an ED of Sarawak Cable from Jan 1, 2018, till Feb 14, 2018, and before that as its independent non-ED from Oct 8, 2009, till Jan 1, 2018.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Sarawak Cable said Ahmad currently sits on the board of prominent companies, which are involved in public infrastructure projects, oil and gas (O&G), and other specialist businesses.

“He frequently acted as counsel for various legal firms in his areas of expertise and has a broad spectrum of clients which include financial institutions, listed companies, government-linked companies, and agencies,” it added.

A trained lawyer, Ahmad, 55, has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation and is primarily involved in the field of defamation, arbitration and debt recovery for financial institutions.

Sarawak Cable shares were not traded today. It last closed at 64 sen last Friday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM202.91 million.
