KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 16): Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has slapped Sapura Resources Bhd (SapRes) with an unusual market activity (UMA) query, on the rise in price and volume of its shares recently.

In a statement today, the exchange directed the company to disclose any unannounced corporate development, rumour, report or any other possible reason behind the spike in its share price and its trading volume.

SapRes’s share price has risen more than 80% since the beginning of October. It was traded at 88 sen, with 6,000 shares done on Oct 1.  

Last Friday (Nov 13), it closed at RM1.62, with 1.78 million shares having exchanged hands.

At 11.58 am today, SapRes was traded at RM1.67, up 5 sen or 3.05%, with 1.59 million shares exchanging hands, for a market capitalisation of RM234.53 million.
