KUALA LUMPUR (May 17): Sapura Energy Bhd’s share trade volume spiked past 400 million units on Tuesday (May 17) to become Bursa Malaysia’s most-active stock while the oil and gas support services provider’s share price rose to its highest in over five months after climbing as much as 67% past seven sen.

At 10.29am on Tuesday, Sapura Energy’s share trade volume spiked to 488.38 million from 61.55 million last Friday while its share price rose as much as three sen or 67% to 7.5 sen from 4.5 sen.

Malaysian markets resumed trading on Tuesday after markets were closed on Monday in conjunction with the replacement holiday for Wesak Day, which fell on Sunday.

At 7.5 sen on Tuesday, Sapura Energy’s share price had risen to its highest in over five months possibly since Dec 7, 2021 when the stock’s price closed at five sen from eight sen on Dec 6, 2021.
