(Sept 2): Despite being sacked from the party, former Langkawi Umno member Anina Saadudin said her struggle in Umno was far from over.

"The struggle is not over, but will be settled by the will of Allah.

"My spirits are at the highest possible, I will not move back even one step," she told The Malaysian Insider.

Last Friday, Anina filed a suit against party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak and executive secretary Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh, to account for the chronology of events involving RM2.6 billion channelled into Najib's personal bank account.

Anina declined to comment when asked if she was upset over her sacking from Umno, and instead recited a poem about how it was the will of God that she was born a Malay and a Malaysian.

"As long as Allah wills me to live, until then I will remain fighting for my beloved country," she said in her poem.

A letter from the Umno headquarters yesterday informed her she had been sacked for breaching Article 20.7 of the Umno constitution, for taking a party matter to court.

On Friday, Anina, who created a stir when she attacked Najib at the Langkawi Wanita Umno division meeting last month, said she was disappointed that the party president had not heeded her grievances.

Najib's disregard of her criticism, she added, prompted her to lodge a complaint with the Umno disciplinary board to summon him.

"I believe he has committed breach of trust and gone against the party constitution by accepting and spending the RM2.6 billion," she was quoted as saying.

Anina's outburst at the Langkawi Umno delegates meeting was caught on video and went viral.

In it, she said Najib had lied by claiming all three million Umno members supported him.

Anina said she had no choice but to use harsh words, adding that a softer approach would have fallen on deaf ears, pointing to Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who was sacked from the Cabinet despite his "polite" criticism of the prime minister. – The Malaysian Insider
