KOTA KINABALU (April 26): Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman of UMNO and the presidents of the four other Barisan Nasional component parties in Sabah except Tan Sri Joseph Kurup are defending their seats in the 14th general election, polling for which is on May 9.

Kurup, who is PBRS president, is not seeking re-election. He is making way for his son, Arthur Joseph Kurup, to contest the Pensiangan parliamentary seat he held in the 13th Parliament.

Also, PBS president Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan is defending only the state seat of Tambunan and not the parliamentary seat of Keningau which will be contested by PBS vice-president Datuk Daniel Kinsik.

Musa, who is Sabah BN and Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, will defend the Sibuga state seat. UPKO president and Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau will defend the Tuaran parliamentary seat and LDP president and Sabah Special Functions Minister Datuk Teo Chee Kang will defend the Tanjong Kapor state seat.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak will contest the Kota Belud parliamentary seat last held by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan who will now contest the Sepanggar parliamentary seat.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili will defend their respective parliamentary seats of Kimanis and Kota Marudu.
