KUALA LUMPUR: Leading property developer SP Setia Bhd is the launch partner for the all-new financial news portal of The Edge Media Group that will go live on Oct 10, 2014.

The website www.theedgemarkets.com will replace both the current www.theedgemalaysia.com and www.theedgesingapore.com.

“S P Setia is pleased to be the launch partner for The Edge’s newly enhanced website as the Setia brand has always been a strong advocate of continuous learning and growth through its ‘LiveLearnWorkPlay’ philosophy,” says Datuk Voon Yin Tow, acting president and chief executive officer.

The launch partnership includes the sponsorship of complimentary digital copies of The Edge Financial Daily (FD) and the Daily Morning Brief (MB) from The Edge Singapore to all registered users of the website.

These registered users will have PDF copies of FD and MB emailed to them every morning from Monday to Friday.

“We are very excited about this new website,” says Ho Kay Tat, group CEO & publisher of The Edge Media Group. “It combines our traditional strength in news with data and financial analytics on every company listed on Bursa Malaysia and the Singapore Exchange.”

“This is a game changer as everyone can now have free access to news and information that were previously available only to those who could afford to pay a few thousand ringgit a month for such services,” adds Ho. “We are empowering the man-in-the-street in line with our corporate mission to promote socio-economic inclusion.”

The new website is convenient and easy to use and some of its content flows from it to FD and MB.

For example, the website has a section called Stocks With Momentum, which  highlights stocks that show early signs of a pickup in price and trading volume using a proprietary algorithm.

“These stocks are flagged on the website and if you want to find out more about them, such as their financial fundamentals, there will be a detailed write-up in the next day’s Financial Daily or Singapore Morning Brief,” Ho explains.

Users can also create their own stocks watch list and they will receive an email alert whenever there is news about the companies on the list.
