KUALA LUMPUR (April 26): The RON97 fuel price will rise by one sen to RM2.81 per litre for the week starting April 27, the Ministry of Finance said today.

The price of RON95 and diesel, meanwhile, will remain unchanged for the week, MOF said in a statement.

MOF said based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM), the price for RON95 is supposed to increase by one sen to RM2.51, while diesel should have risen by two sen to RM2.48.

But the ministry is maintaining the price of the two fuels at RM2.08 and RM2.18 respectively, in line with government decision to stabilise the retail price for petroleum products and reduce the people's cost of living.

MOF said the estimated subsidies to be borne by the government between April 27 and May 3 would be RM103.77 million for RON95, and RM29.85 million for diesel, for a total of RM133.62 million.
