KUALA LUMPUR (July 13): Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin transferred RM6 million from the company's CIMB Bank account into his Maybank account on Dec 20, 2016, the High Court was told today.

Wong Ping, the manager of CIMB Bank's Bintulu Sentral branch, said Jepak had two current accounts with the bank, with Saidi as the sole signatory.

Wong also said that on Aug 4, 2017, a total of RM64 million was transferred from the Education Ministry into one of Jepak's CIMB accounts through five transactions.

Six days after this, RM10 million was transferred out of the account into a bank account belonging to Saidi, she added when testifying in Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's graft trial at the High Court.

Senior Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram said in his opening statement at the trial last year that Saidi had given RM5 million to Rosmah after Jepak received the letter of award from the Education Ministry for a solar hybrid project for rural schools in Sarawak.

Rosmah, the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, is charged with soliciting RM187.5 million for the award of the project worth RM1.25 billion. She is also charged with receiving a bribe of RM6.5 million in relation to the same project.

The court previously heard that Saidi withdrew a total of RM6.5 million in two transactions in 2016 and 2017 for "his business" from his personal account with Maybank.

Also testifying today was Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission assistant investigating officer Muhammad Na'im Mahmod, who said he went to Rosmah's house in Jalan Langgak Duta on Nov 2, 2018 with Saidi and two other witnesses — Rayyan Radzwill Abdullah and Shamsul Rizal Sharbini. They were both taken into the house separately, he said.

"Both the men separately corroborated their stories that they [had] brought in bags of cash and placed them on a green sofa at Rosmah's residence," said Muhammad Na'im.

"I took both men into the house separately. They both told me the same thing. The bags of money were put on the green couch," the witness said.

"My colleague Rekhraj Singh instructed me to prepare the house layout where Shamsul had put two backpacks with cash.

"He also told me to prepare the layout of the living room where Saidi, Rayyan and Rosmah met," Muhammad Na'im added.

Hearing before Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan continues tomorrow morning.
