KUALA LUMPUR (April 8): RHB Banking Group (RHB) has confirmed that one of its employees from RHB Islamic Bank's Kelana Jaya branch in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, has tested positive for Covid-19.

The affected employee, who had been on home quarantine since March 26, was confirmed Covid-19 positive on April 8, RHB said in a statement today.

"The affected branch has been temporarily closed from March 25 until the end of the Movement Control Order period, and deep cleaning and sanitisation activities have been carried out in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines.

"As an added precaution, employees who had come into close contact with the affected person have been placed on home quarantine. Rest assured that we have taken all the necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees and the community," it added.

On March 28, the group reported that two of its employees from RHB Islamic Bank's Jalan Satok branch in Kuching, Sarawak, tested positive for Covid-19. That branch had similarly been temporarily closed for cleansing and disinfecting, while all branch employees were placed under home quarantine.
