KUALA LUMPUR (April 9): RHB Banking Group (RHB) said today that a remisier with its investment bank arm, RHB Investment Bank, has tested positive for Covid-19.

The remisier, based at the Trading Gallery at RHB Centre in Kuala Lumpur, had been working from home since April 6, before he was home-quarantined on Wednesday. Today, he was confirmed having contracted the virus, RHB said in a statement.

“The Trading Gallery at RHB Centre has been temporarily closed to the public starting from March 18 until the end of the Movement Control Order period, and deep cleaning and sanitisation activities have been carried out in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines.

“As an added precaution, remisiers with RHB Investment Bank and employees who had come into close contact with the affected person have been placed on home quarantine. Rest assured that we have taken all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees and the community,” it added.

Yesterday, RHB announced that one of its employees from RHB Islamic Bank's Kelana Jaya branch in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, had tested positive for Covid-19. Before that, on March 28, it said two employees from RHB Islamic Bank's Jalan Satok branch in Kuching, Sarawak, had contracted the virus.

All these branches had similarly been closed temporarily for cleansing and disinfecting, while employees of these branches had been placed under home quarantine.
