KUALA LUMPUR (April 18): RHB Bank Bhd is looking to acquire 1 million mobile banking customers for its new mobile banking app at the end of this year.

During his speech at the app's launch, RHB group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said as it stands the group has 1.8 million internet banking customers.

"RHB has approximately 1.8 million active RHB Now internet banking users, out of which more than 500,000 are active mobile banking users," said Khairussaleh.

He added the group's mobile banking penetration growth has seen an increase of 250% over the past three years.

He then shared that group is looking to increase its digital transaction volume from the current 66% to more than 80% by 2022, with its new app as a means of achieving this.

When queried on which of the bank's customer segments would best benefit from the new app, Khairussaleh said the app was designed for all its users to benefit.
