KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 28): RGB International Bhd reported a significant jump of 564% in its net profit to RM6.3 million, from RM946,000 in the preceding year’s same quarter.

Revenue for the quarter rose 51% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM61.5 million, from RM40.8 million. Earnings per share (EPS) rose to 0.54 sen, compared to 0.08 sen in the year before.

In its announcement to Bursa Malaysia, the company said its sales and marketing segment saw higher revenue and profit for the quarter, due to an increase in number of machines sold to new and existing casinos in the region.

The company’s technical support and management division also saw improved results, as it saw better performance across the region, coupled with lower operating expenditure.

For the cumulative period, RGB’s net profit tripled to RM15.5 million, from RM5.2 million in the year before; while revenue jumped 50% to RM158.4 million, from RM105.9 million.

In its prospects, RGB said it aims to sell more than 1,200 machines for its current financial year, and expects to post better results for the year.

Meanwhile, the company has entered into a fixed fee machine leasing agreement with a licensed operator, and will deliver the machines by the first quarter of 2015.

At 4pm, RGB rose 0.05 sen or 3.45% to 15 sen, bringing its market capitalisation to RM176.48 million.
