KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): Non-bank financial service provider RCE Capital Bhd expects loan growth for its consumer financing segment to remain conservative for the financial year ended March 31, 2015 (FY15).

RCE Chief Executive Officer, Loh Kam Chuin, said the group was focusing more on the loan quality versus loan expansion.

“We are very cautious at this point in time and we are looking at quality (of loans), as opposed to growing our loan base,” Loh said in a press conference, after the company’s annual general meeting today.

He said RCE did not plan to “grow for the sake of growing” and would continue to manage the level of its non-performing loans.

“At the end of the day, if we maintain where we are right now, we should be looking at reasonable numbers from the loan base itself,” Loh said.
