KUALA LUMPUR (April 3): Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) has donated four ventilators to Selayang Hospital to support the public health care sector in the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement, it said this contribution can help alleviate concerns of ventilator shortage at public hospitals and enable the facilities to continue providing the best care for Covid-19 patients at their premises.

RSDH group chief executive officer Greg Brown said all RSDH facilities, namely Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Ara Damansara Medical Centre and ParkCity Medical Centre, are providing Covid-19 nasal and throat swab tests for individuals with symptoms.

He said the results will be ready within 24 to 48 hours and walk-ins will be accepted, with no appointments required. The test is priced at RM630 inclusive of medical consultation.

“Strong collaborative public-private efforts that enable healthcare practitioners to ramp up testing and treatment of the virus at public hospitals will enable the country to arrest the spread of Covid-19,” said Brown.

RSDH is equally owned by Sime Darby Bhd and Ramsay Health Care.
